Dartmouth, Yale Secure Shares of the Ivy Title

PRINCETON, N.J. – Dartmouth and Yale earned shares of the Ivy League title with their wins on Saturday.

The two join Harvard as Ivy League champions for the 2023 season. This marks the fifth time in the 68-year history of the league that three teams have earned a share of the trophy. The most recent occurrence was 2015.

The titles have historical significance for each of the schools. This is Dartmouth’s league-leading 21st all-time championship. Big Green head coach Sammy McCorkle becomes the 10th coach in Ivy League history to win the title in his first season. Yale, which won its 18th all-time championship, claimed back-to-back titles for the first time since 1981. The Bulldogs have won four titles in the last six seasons. Harvard’s title is its 18th and head coach Tim Murphy’s 10th, which is tied with former Yale head coach Carm Cozza for the most all-time.
