Week 9 Football Award Winners Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. –  Following strong individual performances in Week 9, Harvard’s Jaden Craig (offensive), Yale's Joseph Vaughn (defensive), Brown’s Wes Rockett (special teams) and Penn’s Malachi Hosley (rookie) earned Ivy League football weekly honors.

No. 19 Harvard secured at least a share of the Ivy League title with its triple overtime win over Penn, improving to 5-1 in Ivy play. Yale’s double overtime win over Princeton and Dartmouth’s win over Cornell kept the Bulldogs and Big Green, both 4-2, alive in the title race.

Three of the league’s four games went to overtime last weekend. Of the 24 league games played this season, 14 have been decided by a single possession.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jaden Craig,
Harvard QB

  • Completed a career-high 23 passes (23-36) for 253 yards and a touchdown in Harvard’s 3OT win over Penn
  • Rushed a career-high 18 times for 35 yards and a career-high two touchdowns
  • Caught the winning two-point conversion from wide receiver Cooper Barkate in the third overtime session

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Joseph Vaughn,
Yale LB

  • Led the Bulldogs with 12 tackles, including nine solo stops in a 36-28 double overtime victory over Princeton
  • Posted five tackles for a loss, which is tied for the fifth most in a single game in the FCS this season
  • Had one pass breakup
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Wes Rockett, Brown RS
  • Totaled 64 yards on four punt returns in Brown’s overtime win over Columbia
  • Each of his punt returns went for double digit yards with his long being 20 yards
  • Made a heads up play, recovering a ball that hit a Brown player on a punt in Bears territory

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Malachi Hosley,
Penn RB

  • Carried the ball 22 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns
  • Scored the game's first touchdown just two minutes into the start of the contest on a 29-yard run
  • Also had three catches for 31 yards
