Yale Claims 2022 Ivy League Volleyball Tournament Title, NCAA Championship Berth

NEW HAVEN, CONN. -- Ivy League regular season co-champion and top-seeded Yale defeated third-seeded Brown in four sets (25-21, 25-21, 25-27, 25-18) on Saturday night to win the Ivy League Volleyball Tournament and earn the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. 

The Bulldogs were paced by a balanced attack — 17 kills for Gigi Barr, 12 for Cara Shultz, and 10 for Fatima Samb. For the match, Yale hit .236 and piled up 12 total blocks to the Bears eight. Brown was led by Sophia Miller's 22 kills. 

Yale will enter the NCAA Championship with a 23-2 overall record after going 13-1 in Ivy League regular season play. The NCAA Selection Show is set for November 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET. 

The two-day, four-team tournament was the first Ivy League Volleyball Tournament since 2000. 

The first two sets were mirror images of each other with Brown taking an early advantage in each set before Yale battled back to claim 25-21 wins. In the third set, the Bears finished off the frame, earning a 27-25 victory. However, the fourth set was all Bulldogs on their way to the four-set win.
