Princeton and Brown Claim Ivy League Weekly Field Hockey Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – After helping their teams to a pair of wins, Princeton’s Grace Schulze (Offensive) and Brown’s Jodie Brine (Defensive) earned Ivy League weekly awards.
 
Princeton, Cornell and Brown picked up two wins each as the Tigers highlighted the week with a 4-2 road win at No. 11 UConn. The result was Princeton’s fourth non-conference top-25 win of the season and the eighth for the Ivy League, who ranks third in the nation in RPI. Following the second week of conference action, Harvard, Cornell and Princeton are atop the standings with 2-0 records while Brown leads all programs with eight total wins.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Grace Schulze, Princeton (So., F – Greenwich, Conn.)
  • Recorded seven total points on the week including two goals and three assists
  • Notched two goals and one assist in the Tigers’ 6-1 win over Yale
  • Followed up with a pair of assists in Princeton’s 4-2 victory over UConn

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jodie Brine, Brown (Sr., GK – Oxshott, England)
  • Recorded a pair of shutouts in the cage for Brown, earning wins over Dartmouth and Wagner
  • Registered seven total saves on the week, including four in the Bears’ 2-0 road win at Dartmouth and three in another 2-0 triumph over Wagner
  • It is the second time this season that Brine has been named the league's Defensive Player of the Week
