PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its football weekly award winners, presented by TIAA, for Week 2. Ivies were collectively 3-1 against non-conference opponents this past weekend to improve to 8-4 overall on the year.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nick Howard, Dartmouth (Jr., QB – Green Bay, Wis.)
- Rushed for a career-high 154 yards on just nine attempts in Dartmouth’s 41-3 win over Sacred Heart – the NEC preseason favorite
- Found the endzone twice, with both touchdowns coming on big plays – 53 and 39 yard runs
- Marked his third-career 100-yard rushing game
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ben Mathiasmeier, Columbia (Sr., DB – Katy, Texas)
- Intercepted a career-high two passes, made six tackles and broke up one pass in Columbia’s 35-24 win over Georgetown
- Made a momentum-changing play as he picked off a pass and returned it 68 yards to the Georgetown eight yard line in the third quarter
- The last time Columbia had a player intercept two passes was Justin Woodley on Oct. 4, 2017 vs. Penn
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jamal Cooney, Dartmouth (Jr., PR – Miami, Fla.)
- Racked up 128 return yards on three punt returns, good for an average of 42.7
- Had returns of 22, 64 and 42 yards
- His 128 total punt return yards is a single-game high in the FCS this season and 42.7-yard average leads the nation
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Graham Walker, Brown (So., WR – Hinesburg, Vt.)
- Tallied a game-high eight catches for 126 yards in Friday’s contest with Harvard
- Reeled in a 36-yard touchdown reception
- His long catch of the night was a diving 43-yard snag
