Ivy League Football Week 5 Award Winners Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton’s Cole Smith, Dartmouth’s Jalen Mackie, Harvard’s Jonah Lipel and Cornell’s Jameson Wang garnered Ivy League football weekly awards, which are presented by USAA.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK 
Cole Smith, Princeton (Sr., QB – Knoxville, Tenn.)
  • Was 25-for-27 through the air, good for 476 yards and four TDs in No. 20 Princeton’s win over Brown.
  • His 92.6 completion percentage is the best mark (15 attempts min) in a single game in Princeton’s program history
  • His 476 yards is second most and is tied for the ninth-most in Ivy League history
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jalen Mackie, Dartmouth (Sr., LB – Miramar, Fla.)
  • Led a Dartmouth defense that kept No. 23 New Hampshire in check for most of the day
  • Collected 10 tackles on the afternoon, including nine solo stops
  • New Hampshire was held to just 15 first downs
 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jonah Lipel, Harvard (Jr., K – Tarzana, Calif.)
  • Was perfect on field goal attempts, hitting three (38, 27 and 42 yards) in No. 19 Harvard’s 30-3 win over Lafayette
  • Knocked through all three of his PAT attempts
  • The 42-yarder matched his career long
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jameson Wang, Cornell (Fr., QB – El Segundo, Calif.)
  • Became the first Cornell freshman to throw and rush for a touchdown in a single game in the Big Red's 34-20 victory over Colgate
  • Had a game-high 84 rushing yards on 12 carries with the go-ahead 18-yard score on the ground in the first half
  • Went 4-for-4 passing for 16 yards, including a 4-yard pass to fellow freshman Matt Robbert to get the Big Red on the board
