No. 17 Brown Hosts Monmouth in the Opening Round of the NCAA Tournament

PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 17 Brown will represent the Ivy League in the NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament for the seventh time in program history after finishing the 2019 campaign 14-1-2 overall and 6-0-1 in League play.
 
The Bears will play host to four-time MAAC women’s soccer champion Monmouth at Stevenson-Pincince Field in the opening round of the postseason tournament. The game is set for Saturday, November 16 at 12:30 p.m. 
 
The League has claimed six wins in the tournament since 2012. No. 17 Brown claimed the 2019 title outright with a 1-1 draw against Yale, marking the 13th women’s soccer championship all-time, tying Harvard for most in League history. 

In 2019, Brown has posted an overall record of 14-1-2, setting a program record for wins in a season. The Bears registered an undefeated mark in Ivy League play (6-0-1), finishing the year unbeaten in conference play for the ninth time in program history and for the first time since 1994. In the final NCAA RPI rankings used for selections, Brown stood at No. 10.
 
The Ivy League finished the season with the most non-conference wins (52) in league history and tout the fifth-best conference RPI in the country out of 32 Division I teams.
