Princeton Just Six Strokes Behind Harvard After Day 2 of Women's Golf Championship

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Princeton is only six shots back of four-time defending Ivy League women’s golf champion Harvard after day two of the 2016 Ivy League Championship, which is taking place at The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Conn.

The Tigers matched their day one score of 310, for a two-day total of 620, while the Crimson carded a 312 on Saturday for a score of 614. Yale is in third (313-317—630), followed by Columbia (318-320—638), Brown (331-318—649), Dartmouth (325-329—654) and Penn (331-324—655).

Yale sophomore Jennifer Peng maintained her lead on the individual side, shooting a 74 for a total score of 146. Peng has a three-stroke advantage over Harvard freshman Anne Cheng, who had the best score of the day, finishing at par for a two-day total of 149.

Princeton freshman Amber Wang (152), last year’s individual winner Brown sophomore Christine Kim (153) and Tigers junior Hana Ku (154) each carded a one-over par 74 and stand in third-, fourth- and fifth-place, respectively.

The top four Crimson golfers rank among the top eight overall, as Cheng is joined there by freshmen Michelle Xie (75-79—154) and Anna Zhou (75-80—155) as well as senior Christine Lin (76-80—156).

The third and final day of the Ivy Championship kicks off at 10 a.m., with Dartmouth and Penn teeing off. The top three teams take to the course beginning at 11:30 a.m., with the top three individual leaders Peng, Cheng and Wang teeing off in the final group at 12:06 p.m.
