PRINCETON, N.J. -- After Harvard won the 2016 Ivy League women’s Heptagonal Cross Country Championship, the League's eight coaches voted Crimson head coach Patrick Wales-Dinan the Ivy League Coach of the Year.
Not only did Harvard win its first Ivy Heps title since 1985, but Crimson junior Courtney Smith took the individual title, the first Harvard harrier to accomplish the feat since Suzanne Jones in 1989. Harvard moved up eight spots in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) after totaling 33 points to hold off No. 21 Yale (69) and No. 24 Penn (77).
The 2016 All-Ivy teams have also been announced. The top seven individual finishers earn All-Ivy first team honors and the eighth through 14th-place winners earn second team honors.
