Men's Soccer All-Ivy, Postseason Awards Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. -- After voting by the Ivy League's men's soccer head coaches, Princeton senior Thomas Sanner has been named the Offensive Player of the Year and Dartmouth senior Stefan Cleveland has been named Defensive Player of the Year. Cleveland's teammate Amadu Kunateh and Brown's Jack Hagstrom have been named the League's Co-Rookies of the Year, and Big Green head coach Chad Riley was named Coach of the Year for the second-straight season.

Riley led the Big Green to a 6-1 record in the Ivy League, earning the Big Green its second-straight Ivy League title and trip to the NCAA College Cup. Dartmouth hosts Hartwick in the first round.

Sanner scored six more goals than anyone in the League, pacing the Ivies with 13 goals, five assists and 31 points. The senior forward was a constant force on offense, placing 31 shots on goal.

Cleveland was dominant in goal for the Big Green in conference play, sports a .935 save percentage, .28 goals-against avaerage, 29 saves, six wins and five shutouts, all League highs. Throughout the full season, the senior keeper boasted a .57 goals-against average and made 52 saves while notching eight shutouts.

Hagstrom and Kunateh are the first players to share a yearly award. Hagstrom was key to both the Brown attack and the Bears defensive effort. The rookie was tied for 11th in the League with 11 points on five goals and one assist, while putting over 65 percent of his shots on goal.

Kunateh posted four goals and an assist, with all four tallies being gamewinners, second to only Sanner in the Ancient Eight. The rookie was a main stay in the strong midfield that led the Big Green to a conference title.

Joining Hagstrom, Cleveland and Sanner on the All-Ivy First team are Brown's Tariq Akeel, Dartmouth's Wyatt Omsberg and Matt Danilack, Columbia's Andrew Tinari and Arthur Bosua, Harvard's Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu and Jake Freeman, and Princeton's Patrick Barba.
