Ancient Eight Will Be Well Represented at NCAA Men's Outdoor Track & Field East Regionals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- All eight schools will be represented at the 2014 NCAA Men's Outdoor Track & Field East Regional, to be held May 29-31 at North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.
A total of 77 individuals and two relay teams will represent the Ancient Eight in 19 of the 20 events. Cornell, the 2014 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor champion, leads the way with 13 individuals and two relay teams, while the team that placed second, Princeton, is next with 14 competitors.
The Tigers hold the top two seeds in the 10,000 with Chris Bendtsen and Tyler Udland, while Harvard senior James Leakos is second in the 5K and Penn sophomore Thomas Awad is second in the 1,500m and sixth in the 5K. Quakers senior Maalik Reynolds ranks second in the high jump, just ahead of Cornell senior Montez Blair (third).
The top 48 declared athletes in individual events and the top 24 declared relay teams were included in the East Regional. The top 12 finishers in each event will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 11-14.
