PRINCETON, N.J. -- Four Ivy League men's hockey teams move on to the second weekend of the 2013 ECAC Men's Hockey Championship with one playing in each of the four quarterfinal best-of-three series on March 15-17.

Brown, Cornell and Dartmouth each won their first-round series to advance, while Yale is back in action after enjoying a first-round bye.

Seventh-seeded Brown (13-12-6, 7-9-6 ECAC Hockey, 5-5-0 Ivy League) made its first appearance in the ECAC Tournament first round count as the Bears blanked tenth-seeded Clarkson 3-0 in the first game and held on to a 4-3 victory in the second game to sweep the Golden Knights. In the second game, Brown was up 4-1, thanks to two goals by junior Jake Goldberg, before Clarkson the mounted a furious comeback in final 20 minutes.

No. 9 Cornell (14-14-3, 8-11-3 ECACH, 2-6-2 Ivy) also opened its first-round series with a shutout, a 4-0 defeat over eigth-seeded Princeton (10-16-5, 8-10-4 ECACH, 5-4-1 Ivy). Junior goaltender Andy Iles made 26 saves for his second career playoff shutout to give the Big Red the 1-0 series lead. The next night, senior defenseman Nick D'Agostino scored a pair of third-period goals to lift Cornell to a 4-2 victory and end the Tigers' season.

Dartmouth and Harvard engaged in a see-saw battle that saw the Crimson grab Game 1 followed by the Big Green pulling the series even with a 4-1 victory. Game 3 was an offensive outburst as Dartmouth netted three goals in each of the final two periods erased an early Harvard (10-19-3, 6-14-2 ECACH, 2-6-2 Ivy) lead and helped the Big Green (15-12-5, 9-9-4 ECACH, 4-3-3 Ivy) advance in the postseason for the third straight year.
