Jacob Schachner turned in back-to-back career-highs in between the pipes to open the 2017 campaign, as the Tigers posted a 1-1 draw versus No. 8 Syracuse before falling 1-0 at Colgate.
The sophomore goalkeeper turned away a career-high four shots in back-to-back games. At No. 8 Syracuse, Schachner stopped the first opportunity, a through ball that turned into an odd-man rush. Another impressive save came on a free kick about 22 yards, and then he pulled down a corner in the 42nd minute. Schachner matched his career high four saves at Colgate.
Schachner adds the first Ivy League Player of the Week nod to his list of conference accolades. Princeton received one Player of the Week award in 2016, with Benjamin Martin taking home the honors on Sept. 19, 2016.
