Sun is the first Ivy League Player of the Year from Harvard since 2012. She went hitless nor got on base during the first four games of her career, but that was the only slump she endured all season as the shortstop ended the season with hits in 30 of the last 34 games and reached base in 33-of-34 games. Sun finished the season leading the Ivy League with a .430 batting average, a 1.318 OPS, 49 hits, 12 doubles, and 10 home runs. She was also second with 34 runs scored and 37 RBI. Sun, twice, recorded a season-high 7 RBI, each coming in wins over Columbia and Cornell, and had a season-high three hits in six games, the last such game coming in a three-hit, three-home run performance in a win over Cornell on April 27th.
