Princeton freshman Gaby Paniagua scored the equalizer and eventually help Princeton defeat Penn, 2-1, in overtime. Princeton improves to 6-6-1 on the season and is unbeaten in its last six games with a 2-2-2 Ivy League record.
Trailing 1-0, Paniagua knotted the game in the 23rd minute off a deep throw in the attacking zone. Sophomore defender Bobby Hickson sent the ball into the box where it was knocked around before Paniagua collected the ball and sent it past Penn’s Scott Forbes. The Tigers went on to register the win, thanks to Hickson’s golden goal in the 94th minute.
This marks the first weekly award for Paniagua and the third weekly award for the Tigers this season.
