Four Ivy League Men's Basketball Teams Earn NABC Academic Excellence Award

NABC Releases: Team Academic Excellence Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Four Ivy League men’s basketball teams have been honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) with the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2016-17 season.

Columbia, Harvard, Princeton and Yale were among more than 130 colleges and universities to earn the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award.

The Team Academic Excellence Award, in its fifth year, celebrates programs across all divisions that achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better for the 2016-17 academic year. This marks the most Ivy League teams to earn this award in a season, and the fourth-straight year two or more teams have picked up the honor.

Next week, the NABC will announce its Honors Court, which highlights individual junior or senior student-athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
