    Columbia sophomore first baseman Chandler Bengston and freshman catcher Liam McGill were selected as the Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, after leading the Lions to a 5-0 week. Penn senior right-handed pitcher Jake Cousins earned Pitcher of the Week accolades with a seven-inning complete-game shutout performance at Cornell.

    Penn senior outfielder Tim Graul and freshman infielder Tommy Pellis were named the Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, after leading the Quakers to a four-game sweep of Princeton. Dartmouth senior right-handed pitcher Beau Sulser earned Pitcher of the Week honors with a seven-inning complete game performance for the Big Green.

    Yale sophomore first baseman Benny Wanger, Dartmouth junior right-handed pitcher Jack Fossand and Princeton freshman infielder David Harding were named the Ivy League Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Each helped his team go .500-or-better in Ancient Eight play last weekend.

    Penn sophomore infielder Matt McGeagh and Dartmouth freshman outfielder Trevor Johnson were dubbed Co-Players of the Week after leading their teams to 3-1 marks to open Ancient Eight play. Columbia sophomore left-handed pitcher Josh Simpson was named the Pitcher of the Week, while Johnson also took home Rookie of the Week honors.

  • Ivies Commence 2017 Baseball Campaign

    All eight Ivies will be in action this weekend, as the 2017 Ancient Eight baseball campaign commences. Seven-of-eight Ivies will return to the field for the first time on March 3 or 4, with Dartmouth being the lone exception. The Big Green opened its season on Feb. 25 with an 8-4 victory over Eastern Michigan.

  • Dartmouth Alum Hendricks Pitches Cubs to First World Series in 71 Years

    For the second-straight year an Ivy alum will feature in the Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series. Kyle Hendricks, a Big Green baseball alum and member of the Dartmouth Class of 2012, is headed to the World Series as a starting pitcher for the Chicago Cubs. The 26-year-old right-hander tossed 7 1/3 scoreless innings in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) to outduel three-time National League Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
