2017-18 Spring Academic All-Ivy Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Ivy League released its list of student-athletes selected for 2018-19 Academic All-Ivy honors in its spring sports today. The 80 men and women were starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with 3.0 or better cumulative grade point averages. Each institution nominated five men and five women from its eligible student-athletes.

BROWN
 
Marisol Dakan, Sr., Women’s Water Polo, Neuroscience (Pasadena, Calif.)
Brown’s all-time leader in saves (1,131); ACWPC Honorable Mention All-American, second-team CWPA All-Tournament Team, four-time CWPA Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Kevin Li, Sr., Men’s Golf, Computer Science-Economics (Vancouver, B.C., Canada)
First-team All-Ivy; CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team; placed fourth individually at the Ivy League Championship.
 
Sasha Lobel, Jr., Men’s Golf, Political Science (Pittsburgh)
First-team All-Ivy; placed fifth individually at the Ivy League Championship.
 
Jackson Newsome, Jr., Men’s Lacrosse, Business-Entrepreneurship and Organizations (Arlington, Va.)
Honorable mention All-Ivy; Brown’s third-leading goal scorer on the season (21).
 
Carolyn Paletta, Sr., Women’s Lacrosse, Political Science (Greenwich, Conn.)
Honorable mention All-Ivy for the second consecutive year; recorded 22 goals and four assists on the season; finished her career ranked sixth all-time in draw controls (93).
 
Carly Paul, Sr., Women’s Track and Field, Developmental Studies (Fort Collins, Colo.)
Second-team All-American in the high jump; first-team All-Ivy in the pentathlon; second-team All-Ivy in the high jump; set school records in both the high jump and the long jump.
 
Anna Seto, Sr., Women’s Equestrian, Engineering (Barrington, R.I.)
IHSA National Championships Qualifier; placed in nine regular season shows; competed at the Zone 1 Finals and Zone 1 Region 1 Regionals.
 
Benson Stevens, Sr., Men’s Crew, Business-Entrepreneurship and Organizations (Osprey, Fla.)
Coxed the varsity boat that placed sixth at the IRA National Championship; coxed the varsity boat that took the bronze medal at Eastern Sprints; coxed the varsity boat to a 6-1 record.
 
Peter Tarwid, Sr., Men’s Tennis, Economics (Lake Forest, Ill.)
CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Team; CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team; second-team All-Ivy (singles); led the Bears in win percentage for singles in the spring season, compiling a 14-2 record.
 
Meghan Wimmer, Jr., Softball, Biology (Boothwyn, Pa.)
Third-team NFCA All-Northeast Region; first-team All-Ivy; team captain; led the Bears in batting average (.398), home runs (seven), RBIs (23), runs (21), hits (39), on-base percentage (.496), slugging percentage (.724), and walks (18).

Neil Crosby, Sr., Women’s Track and Field, Environmental Biology (Colorado Springs, Colo.)
Set school-record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:54.55); advanced to NCAA Championships in steeple for second straight year; won Ivy League championship in 3,000-meter steeplechase.
 
Lindsey Ewertsen, Jr., Women’s Lacrosse, Psychology (Montclair, N.J.)
Ivy League Midfielder of the Year; first-team All-Ivy League selection; IWLCA All-Region Second Team; All-ECAC Second Team member; scored 28 goals with 15 assists; set single-season record with 78 draw controls; all-time career record holder in caused turnovers (91).
 
Sarah Hardie, Sr., Women’s Track and Field, Political Science (Eastport, N.Y.)
Earned All-america honors in the outdoor 1,500-meter run after clocking a school-record 4:15.24; two-time All-American this year; nine-time Ivy League champion and 12-time All-Ivy League performer.
 
Ben Landis, Sr., Men’s Lightweight Rowing, Political Science (Heidelberg, Germany)
Helped varsity eight capture gold medal at EARC sprints (first for program since 2000); first-team All-Ivy League; guided varsity eight to 10-1 regular season record; varsity eight swept all cup races for first time since 2003.
 
Akua Obeng-Akrofi, Sr., Women’s Track and Field, Psychology (Lawrenceville, Ga.)
Second Team All-America in the 4x400 meter relay; earned two All-America honors; set school-record in 400-meters (51.82); earned Second Team All-Ivy League honors in the 400-meters and 4x400-meter relay; NCAA Regional qualifier in the 400-meters and 4x400-meter relay.
 
Victor Pham, Jr., Men’s Tennis, Political Science (Saratoga, Calif.)
Ivy League Player of the Year; NCAA singles qualifier; helped Lions to fifth straight league title and third straight Sweet Sixteen appearance; played in top singles spot all year, with 25-11 record; ranked No. 7 nationally in singles and No. 7 in doubles.
 
Leo Pollack, So., Baseball, Columbia College (Berkeley, Calif.)
Led Ivy League and set single season record with 26 relief appearances; concluded year with 1-1 record, a save, 4.00 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 36.0 innings pitched.
 
Jackie Tang, So., Men’s Tennis, Columbia College (Hong Kong)
Second Team All-Ivy League selection; NCAA singles qualifier; finished with a 23-13 overall singles record; helped Lions to fifth straight league title and third straight Sweet Sixteen appearance; played No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles; ranked No. 37 nationally in singles and No. 7 in doubles.
 
Ryan Thomas, Sr., Men’s Track and Field, Political Science (Charlottesville, Va.)
NCAA Regional qualifier in 5,000-meter run; Ivy League champion in 5,000-meter run; second-place finish in 3,000-meter run at Penn Challenge.
 
Taylor Troutt, Sr., Softball, Psychology/Religion (League City, Texas)
Ivy League Player of the Year; NFCA Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team selection; led Ivy League and set Columbia single-season records in batting average (.455), on-base percentage (.507) and slugging percentage (.797).

Second-team All-Ivy (3000 steeplechase); ECAC Outdoor Champion in the steeple; NCAA East Region qualifier; CoSIDA Academic All-District first team.
 
Joey Coffy, Sr., Women’s Lacrosse, Hotel and Restaurant Administration (Norwalk, Conn.)
Two-time first-team All-Ivy; two-time IWLCA Northeast Regional All-American; led the team in draw controls, ground balls and caused turnovers.
 
Jordan Dowiak, Sr., Men’s Lacrosse, Applied Economics and Management (Long Valley, N.J.)
First-team All-Ivy; honorable mention All-American; team captain; Ivy League Tournament champion; NCAA quarterfinal appearance; ninth midfielder in Ivy history to register 40 goals in a single season.
 
Mike Graboyes, Sr., Men’s Golf, Economics (Watchung, N.J.)
Four-time All-Ivy; first-team selection in 2018; PING All-Northeast Region Team; led Ivy League with 0.35-over par stroke average.
 
Shannon Hugard, Sr., Women’s Track and Field, Biomedical Engineering (Middletown, R.I.)
Honorable Mention All-American in 2017 and 2018 (1500m); finished 20th in NCAA championships in the 1,500 meters; holder of three school records.
 
Ryan Krainz, Sr., Baseball, Industrial and Labor Relations (Naperville, Ill.)
All-Ivy first team in 2017 (SS) and 2018 (2B); ranked second in Ivy in stolen bases (9); reached base safely in 34-of-37 games.
 
Megan Murray, Sr., Softball, Communication (Alfred, N.Y.)
Two-time first-team All-Ivy; fourth in the Ivy batting race (.409); top 10 in school history in doubles (fourth, 44), batting average (seventh, .352) and hits (eighth, 179).

Senior CLASS Award winner; third-team All-American; unanimous first-team All-Ivy; team captain; Ivy Tournament champion and NCAA qualifier.

All-Ivy first team in both singles and doubles; ITA Notheast Region Most Improved Senior; career records of 47-27 in singles and 48-26 in doubles.

Three-time All-Ivy; first-team singles selection in 2018; 9-5 from primarily No. 1 spot in singles; team ranked 48th nationally.

Stroked with first varsity 8; helped her crew win second-straight Parents’ Cup against Cornell; sixth in Grand Final at Ivy Championship.

Unanimous first-team All-Ivy League; IWLCA First-Team All-Northeast Region; led Dartmouth in goals and points.
 
Austin Heye, Sr., Men’s Heavyweight Rowing, Psychology (Belmont, Mass.)
Rowed with varsity 8; helped Dartmouth to wins over Columbia, MIT, Holy Cross, Georgetown and Boston University; sixth in Grand Final in second V8 at Eastern Sprints.
 
Jessica Kittelberger, Sr., Women’s Golf, Environmental Studies/Anthropology (Raleigh, N.C.)
All-Ivy League Second Team by virtue of 10th-place finish at Ivy Championship; led Dartmouth with 77.2 stroke average; four top-10 finishes this year.
 
Jack Korzelius, Sr., Men’s Lacrosse, Engineering Sciences (Purchase, N.Y.)
Second-Team All-Ivy League; second on Big Green with 20 goals, third with 23 points; selected by Atlanta Blaze with 56th overall pick of MLL Draft.

Ivy League Player of the Year; first-team All-Ivy outfielder; Google Cloud Academic All-District I First Team; led league with 14 doubles; third in slugging (.497).
 
Robert Van Voorhis, Sr., Men’s Lightweight Rowing, Economics (Oak Brook, Ill.)
Rowed with varsity 8; helped his boat to victories over MIT, Delaware and Temple as the stroke; also rowed in 4+ at Head of the Charles.
 
Taylor Ward, Jr., Softball, Engineering Sciences (Toms River, N.J.)
First-Team All-Ivy League outfielder; led team with seven home runs and 20 walks (tied for Ivy lead); second on team with .315 BA and .620 slugging percentage.
 
HARVARD
 
Kevin Coakley, Sr., Men’s Sailing, Economics (Duxbury, Mass.)
Inducted into the ICSA Hall of Fame; received the James Rousmaniere Award for Student Leadership; received the NEISA Student Leadership Award; finished in the top five in 11 of 13 races this season, including two first-place finishes; president of the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association.
 
Katie Duncan, Jr., Softball, Psychology (Allendale, N.J.)
CoSIDA Academic All-District; NFCA All-Region third team; Ivy League Pitcher of the Year; unanimous All-Ivy first team selection; three-time Ivy League Pitcher of the Week; posted a 15-10 mark, included a 9-3 record against Ivy opponents; registered a career single-season best 3.17 ERA and 82 strikeouts; retired a career single-game high twice, fanning seven opposing batters against non-conference Southern Utah (March 11) and Ivy foe Dartmouth (April 21); led the Ivy League in wins (15) and second in strikeouts (82).
 
Julia Glynn, Sr., Women’s Lacrosse, Psychology (Manhasset, N.Y.)
Team captain; Radcliffe Prize winner; NCAA Woman of the Year nominee; Inside Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention; Tewaaraton Award Watch List selection; Ivy League Attacker of the Year; First Team All-Ivy; IWLCA All-Northeast Region First Team; finished the year with 95 points (69 goals, 26 assists), the third most in a single season in program history; second-most goals in Harvard history (69); became just the fifth Harvard student-athlete to reach 200 points for her career, finishing her four years with 136 goals and 66 assists.
 
Lars Lorch, Jr., Men’s Heavyweight Crew, Applied Mathematics (Nuertingen, Germany)
All-Ivy selection; sat in five seat for fourth place finish at IRAs; was five seat in fourth varsity eight victory over Cornell; sat seven seat in third varsity eight win over Brown; five seat in first varsity eight in victory versus Princeton; five seat during first varsity eight win over Navy and Penn; five seat in first varsity eight to victory over Northeastern.
 
Rhianna Rich, Jr., Softball, Neurobiology (El Segundo, Calif.)
CoSIDA Academic All-District; NFCA All-Region first team; unanimous All-Ivy first team selection; three-time Ivy League Player of the Week; finished amongst Division I’s top-10 leaders in batting average, triples, triples per game, and runs scored; second in the Ivy League in batting average; ended the regular season with an 11-game hitting streak; lead the Ivy League in runs scored, hits, and triples.
 
Robert Shaw, Sr., Men’s Lacrosse, Computer Science (Canton, Mass.)
Scholar All-American; CoSIDA Academic All-District at large; academic All-Ivy in 2017; All-New England first team; All-Ivy League second team in 2017 and 2018; recorded double-digit saves in 12 of 13 games this season, and ranked fourth nationally with 12.85 saves per game; climbed to sixth all-time at Harvard with 504 career saves; became sixth player in program history to get to 500 saves; recorded 167 saves this season, while also collecting 24 ground balls.
 
Kenny Tao, Sr., Men’s Tennis, Applied Mathematics (San Jose, Calif.)
Named ITA Northeast Senior Player of the Year; first-team All-Ivy selection in both singles and doubles; clinched the match over No. 17 Oklahoma State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with a 5-7, 6-0, 6-3 win in the No. 1 singles spot; clinched four matches for the Crimson over the course of the season in the No. 1 singles and doubles spots; finished the season with a 17-4 overall singles record and 18-13 mark in doubles.
 
Gabrielle Thomas, Jr., Women’s Outdoor Track and Field, Neurobiology (Florence, Mass.)
USTFCCCA First Team All-American (200m); USTFCCCA Second Team All-American (100m); placed 2nd in 200m at NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships; finished 14th in 100m at NCAA Outdoor Meet; won the 100m, 200m, long jump, and ran on winning 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams at the Ivy League Outdoor Heps; named Ivy League Most Outstanding Tack Performer of the Meet and Co-Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet; selected to The Bowerman Post-Conference Championships Watch List.
 
Michelle Xie, Jr., Women’s Golf, Molecular and Cellular Biology (Palo Alto, Calif.)
Capped off her junior year winning the individual championship at the Ivy League Tournament and helped Harvard to a second place overall finish at the event; finished in the top-10 in four of seven tournaments this season; first-team All-Ivy selection.
 
Noah Zavolas, Sr., Baseball, Psychology (Acton, Mass.)
Ivy League Pitcher of the Year; unanimous All-Ivy First Team Honoree; threw Harvard's first no-hitter since 2001; NEIBA All-New England First Team; pitched a team high 70.0 innings in 11 appearances, amassing a 6-1 overall record; recorded 77 strikeouts for a 9.90 K/9 inning average along with a 2.96 ERA.

NCAA Championships qualifier/honorable mention All-America in outdoor 800; Ivy Heps champion in outdoor 800; Ivy Heps champion in outdoor 4x800; totaled six top-10 performances on the season.
 
Connor Keating, Sr., Men’s Lacrosse, History (Gladwyne, Pa.)
Second-team USILA All-America; unanimous first-team All-Ivy (Penn's first three-time first-team All-Ivy since 1985); Senior CLASS Award finalist; led team with 58 ground balls.
 
Kyle Mautner, Jr., Men’s Tennis, Finance (Greenwich, Conn.)
Three-time first-team All-Ivy; recorded a career-high 18 wins at No. 1 singles; defeated two players in the ITA's top 100; ended season winning 10 of his last 11 matches.
 
Matt McGeagh, Jr., Baseball, Finance (Pacific Palisades, Calif.)
First-team All-Ivy; co-Big 5 Player of the Year; All-Big 5; Big 5 Student-Athlete of the Year; led Ivies with 43 RBI; led Penn with 7 HR; hit .299 with 13 multi-hit games.
 
Anthony Okolo, So., Men’s Track and Field, Economics (Union, N.J.)
NCAA Prelims qualifier, outdoor 400 hurdles; Ivy Heps champion, outdoor 400 hurdles; won the 400m hurdles at three events this season; scored in the 4x400m relay, placing fourth at Ivy Heps.
 
Molly Oretsky, Sr., Softball, Communication (Houston)
Second-team All-Ivy; finished third among Ivy players in conference BA (.417); ranked as the 33rd-toughest player to strike out in the nation by the NCAA.
 
Christina Park, So., Women’s Golf, Finance and Management (San Diego)
T-2nd among Penn players at the Ivy League Championship; tied for team high with 20 tournament rounds in 2017-18, had a 78.5 stroke average.
 
Gabby Rosenzweig, So., Women’s Lacrosse, Communication (Somers, N.Y.)
Third-team IWLCA All-America; first-team All-Ivy; second-team All-ECAC; All-Tournament at Ivy League Tournament; tied Penn's single-season scoring record (85 points); led Ivy League in assists (36).
 
Regina Salmons, Sr., Women’s Rowing, English (Methuen, Mass.)
First-team All-Ivy; CRCA All-Conference; CRCA National Scholar-Athlete; 6 seat for Varsity 8 that finished best-ever third at Ivy League Championship.
 
Dominique Williams, So., Men’s Lightweight Crew, Behavioral Economics (Madison, Conn.)
Rowed 5 seat for Penn's Varsity 8 which took third at EARC Sprints for second-straight year, then fourth at IRA National Championship regatta.
 
PRINCETON
 
Claire Collins, Sr., Women’s Rowing, Economics (McLean, Va.)
Second-team All-America and first-team All-Region rower; first-team All-Ivy League honoree; rowed in the 1V and helped Princeton win its second straight Ivy League championship; helped 1V to 11-0 regular-season record.
 
Luke Gamble, Sr., Men’s Tennis, English (Boise, Idaho)
Second-team All-Ivy League in doubles; went 19-14 in singles, including 14-10 in the spring with a 7-4 record at third singles; in doubles, went 20-11 overall and 15-8 in the spring with a 13-7 record on court one; had wins over No. 7-ranked doubles team in the nation against UCF and the No. 85-ranked team against Harvard.
 
Lindsey Kelleher, Jr., Women’s Water Polo, History (South Pasadena, Calif.)
CWPA All-Conference Second Team; started every game; led the team with 47 assists; finished with 55 goals, 102 points, 40 steals, 38 drawn ejections and 13 blocks.
 
Ellie McNulty, Sr., Women’s Lacrosse, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (Arnold, Md.)
First-team All-Ivy; Ivy League All-Tournament Team; second-team All-Region; ranks fourth all-time at Princeton in draws (115); took third-most draws in a single season with 59 in 2018; started and played in all 19 games; finished with 30 goals, eight assists, 59 draws, 30 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers
 
Kennedy O’Dell, Sr., Women’s Track and Field, History (Eudora, Kan.)
Second-team All-Ivy, 2018; first-team All-Ivy, 2016; 15-time Ivy Heps scorer for 70 total points; two-time NCAA Regional Qualifier.
 
Lane Russell, Sr., Men’s Track and Field, Economics (Olympia, Wash.)
Ivy Heps champion in the triple jump and five-time scorer; two-time NCAA Regional Qualifier.
 
James Sincavage, Sr., Men’s Lightweight Rowing, Economics (Malvern, Pa.)
Rowed in the 1V and placed fifth at both the Eastern Sprints and IRA Championships; helped Princeton retain both the Fosburgh Cup and the Wood-Hammond Trophy, while also winning the inaugural Campbell Cup; earned Academic All-IRA honors.
 
Augustin Wambersie, Sr., Men’s Heavyweight Rowing, Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering (Rio de Janeiro)
Rowed in the gold medal-winning 2V at Eastern Sprints; boat flipped regular-season results against Harvard and Yale to take gold; moved to the stroke seat of the 1V at the IRA Championships and helped Princeton place fourth, including a win over California; earned IRA All-Academic honors; raced in every boat from the 1V through the 4V during the season.
 
Amber Wang, Jr., Women’s Golf, Economics (Sugar Land, Texas)
Second-team All-Ivy League; tied for 10th at the Ivy League Championships; led or co-led the team in three events; top finish of a tie for eighth came at the LSU Tiger Invitational; low round of 70 came in the second round of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational.
 
Daniel Winschuh, Sr., Men’s Lacrosse, Economics (Chatham, N.J.)
Played in all 13 games this season, started in eight; recorded seven caused turnovers and six ground balls on the season; helped team to an 8-5 record.

Will Bernstein, Sr., Men’s Golf, History (New York)
Named Second team All-Ivy; team captain; helped Bulldogs to Ivy League championship; two-time All-Ivy selection.
 
Eric Brodkowitz, Sr., Baseball, Economics (Potomac, Md.)
First team All-Ivy pitcher; led the league with six victories without a loss and finished second in innings pitched.
 
Sholto Carnegie, Sr., Men’s Heavyweight Crew, Economics (Oxford, England)
Stroked the Bulldogs' varsity eight to a national championship; V8 was undefeated in dual races and won Ivy title; 4-year member of varsity eight

Second in Ivy League in opponent batting average, 6th in ERA and 9th in strikeouts; second all-time at Yale in career strikeouts.

Second team All-Ivy selection; tied for the team lead in ground balls with 26 and was second on the team in draw controls with 51, while adding 15 goals; team captain
