LEAGUE NOTES
- Penn (6-0) continues to sit atop the Ivy League standings with an unblemished 6-0 mark. The Quakers own three wins over ranked opposition this season.
- No. 11 Penn, No. 16 Princeton and No. 23 Cornell are ranked in this week’s IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll. No. 9 Penn and No. 20 Princeton are also noted in the latest Inside Lacrosse Women’s Division I Media Poll.
- No. 11/9 Penn’s visit to No. 20/19 Duke headlines this week’s action for Ivy League programs. The Quakers will be looking to pick up a win over a Top 25-ranked opponent for the fourth-straight week.
- Yale’s Izzy Nixon continues to pace NCAA Division I with 11.00 draw controls per game.
- Harvard’s Julia Glynn and Keely MacAfee are tied for seventh nationally with 4.20 goals per game. Glynn (3rd, 6.40) and MacAfee (9th, 5.60) also rank among the top 10 in the nation in points per game.
- Penn’s Mikaila Cheeseman sits third in NCAA Division I with a 7.34 goals against average and sixth with a .554 save percentage.
- Columbia’s Alexandria Absey tops the national charts with a .792 shot percentage, while Brown’s Risa Mosenthal sits ninth at .697.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brown junior midfielder
Caroline Zaffino tallied 14 points over two games to lead the Bears to victories over Bryant and Monmouth. The Darien, Conn., product scored a career-high seven goals—while adding five draw controls, four ground balls and an assist—in Brown’s 15-14 triumph at Bryant.
She then helped the Bears to a 20-10 home win over Monmouth, contributing five goals, seven draw controls, on caused turnover and one assist. Prior to Brown, Zaffino played two years at Boston College, accumulating seven goals and two assists over 21 games.
With 14 points this week, the junior more than doubled her career point output. She led the Bears in points (14), goals (12) and draw controls (12) this week.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mikaila Cheeseman earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades for the second-straight week after backstopping the Quakers to a pair of non-conference road wins at Drexel and No. 25 Georgetown.
The Suffern, N.Y., native allowed 11 goals on 27 shots in a 16-11 win at Drexel. She then held No. 25 Georgetown to just six goals on 24 shots. In 120 minutes on the week, Cheeseman compiled an 8.50 goals against average and .514 save percentage, while making 18 saves. She ranks third nationally with a 7.71 goals against average and seventh with a .534 save percentage this season.
The win over No. 25 Georgetown is Penn’s third in as many weeks over a Top 25-ranked program and propelled the Quakers to their third-straight Defensive Player of the Week nod.
