In the highly-anticipated women’s ice hockey gold medal final, Canada claimed the Ivy League’s 474th all-time medal—a silver. The Canadians fell to their rival—the United States—3-2 via shootout, ending a 20-year reign atop the sport.

The Olympic medal is the first for Saulnier and Stacey; second for Fortino, Jenner, Rougeau and Schuler; and third for Johnston. Fortino, Jenner, Johnston and Rougeau won Olympic gold with Canada at Sochi 2014; Johnston won Olympic gold at Vancouver 2010 and Schuler won Olympic silver as a player at Nagano 1998.
In biathlon, Dartmouth alumnae
Emily Dreissigacker and
Susan Dunklee participated in the 4x6km relay for the United States, finishing 13th with a time of 1:14:05.3.
In alpine skiing, Dartmouth alumni
David Choudonsky and
Nolan Kasper represented the United States in the slalom. Choudonsky was the top American finisher at 18th, behind a combined time of 1:40.84. He posted a 49.43 (17th overall) in Run 1 and a 51.41 (14th overall) in Run 2. Kasper crossed the finish line in 52.44 (34th) in Run 1, but did not finish in Run 2.
