LEAGUE NOTES:
- With Harvard’s overtime win at Dartmouth, head coach Tommy Amaker became the fifth head coach in Ivy League history to record 200 wins at an Ancient Eight institution. Amaker, who was already Harvard's all-time wins leader, was the second-fastest to record the milestone in Ivy history behind Princeton’s Pete Carril.
- Cornell’s Matt Morgan ranks seventh in the nation with 23.3 points per game. Morgan, the league’s top-scorer for the past two seasons, tied a program record with his 36th career 20-point game, matching Cornell’s all-time leading scorer and 2018 Legend of Ivy League Basketball honoree Ryan Wittman ’10.
- 60 percent of the league’s top 15 scorers are underclassmen with a trio of sophomores – Brown’s Brandon Anderson (18.7 PPG), Columbia’s Mike Smith (17.8) and Yale’s Miye Oni (16.4 PPG) currently ranked in the top five. Seven teams have at least one underclassman among their top contributors.
- Harvard continues to lead the league defensively, allowing just 66.3 points per game. The Crimson has the 15th best defense efficiency in the nation and has held eighth-straight opponents to fewer than 65 points.
- Yale ranks 14th nationally in assists per game, dishing out 17.7 helpers each contest. Guard Miye Oni leads the Bulldogs with 3.3 assists per game.
- Penn is 13th in the country in defensive rebounds per game, pulling down 29.11 boards per game. Junior Max Rothschild and sophomore AJ Brodeur pace the Ancient Eight on the glass, pulling down 6.6 and 6.5 rebounds per game, respectively. Penn has outrebounded 11 opponents in this season, including a season-high 56 boards versus Monmouth.
- The Lions tied a program record for the second time this season with 16 made 3-pointers and converted at a season-best 57.1 percent from deep. Columbia’s 10.4 3-pointers made per game ranks 20th among the nation’s best. Junior guard Quinton Adlesh is shooting 46.0 percent from deep, which is good for 19th nationally.
- Princeton is the only other Ivy League team to sink at least 16 treys this season when the Tigers shot 66.7 percent from beyond the arc (16-of-24) at Cal Poly.
- Yale failed to sweep Brown for the first time since 2014. The Bears, which avenged a road loss to the Bulldogs from a week earlier, pace the Ivy League in scoring offense (77.9 points per game) and had four players reach double figures. Brown is now 6-0 when four or more players eclipse double digits.
- Cornell has now given up 179 points in its last two road losses to Princeton and Columbia, respectively. Princeton’s 37-point victory was its most in regulation since scoring 97 against Brown on Jan. 13, 2017. Columbia’s 26-point win marked the Lions’ largest Ivy League victory since a 93-65 win at Penn on February 27, 2016.
- This week features six games, all of which will be simulcast on the Ivy League Network as well as television partners such as Eleven Sports, NESN-Plus and NBC Sports Philadelphia. The Ivy League Network is available on Apple TV and Roku and the ILN app for Androids and Apple Devices.
