Donna Yaffe, Brown

One of six Ivies to twice be named Ivy League Player of the Year, Donna Yaffe ranks second in Brown program history and 10th in Ivy League lore with 1,779 career points. She was a three-time First Team All-Ivy selection and earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year accolades in 1981-82 and Player of the Year nods in 1982-83 and 1984-85.
 
Yaffe led the Bears to their first Ivy League title as a junior in 1983-84 and returned to the League’s pinnacle again as a senior in 1984-85. A three-time Academic All-American, Yaffe graduated from Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1985.
 
She captained the United States to a gold medal at the 1985 Maccabiah Games and pursued a professional basketball career in Sweden and Finland, prior to returning to her psychology studies. She received her master’s degree in psychology from the University of the Pacific in 1990 and her Ph.D. in clinical health psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1996. She is a practicing psychologist in the Baltimore, Maryland area.
